WORSHIP CREW:
Setting the Lord's Table & More

Altar Guild
It is a privilege to prepare His House for worship and His Supper.
When you join Altar Guild you will set up before service (filling cups with wine, hanging banners, etc.) and cleanup after service. We need servers for either Sunday or Wednesday service. Guild members work in teams and make 1-month commitments.

Acolytes
B
eing an acolyte is a fun and rewarding way for youth (age 12+) to participate in the liturgy. It’s more than lighting candles. It’s acting as a servant of the Lord and serving the churchgoers in their worship, learning, and service to their Lord.

Greeters
Greeters make s good first impression! They are the friendly face of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Anyone with a firm handshake and bright smile can qualify as a greeter. Why not make it a family affair? Our greeters are often married couples, parents and children. It's an easy way to meet new friends and feel a new connection to the church.

Lay Readers
Lay readers
are
men and women who read the lessons and psalms in front of the congregation. Being a reader helps you gain a deeper reverence for the Bible. At Immanuel, reading is sometimes a family experience. Husband and wife… father and daughter…  brothers and sisters… team up and split the readings. It’s a new way to help your family see how God is revealed in Holy Scripture.

Nursery
Are you someone who loves getting on the floor and making silly faces? You’ll help moms and dads of nursery school children “enjoy worship in peace,” as you keep their little ones entertained. Don’t worry; you won’t be alone. The nursery crew is a joyous group that knows how to tap into their inner child… all in the service of the Lord!

Offering Counters
Offerings made at church help Immanuel Lutheran Church spread the Word of God, and we need help managing the funds. Offering counters are men and women (and even teens) who count the contributions each Sunday.

Ushers
Help make the service run smoothly. Ushers hand out the service bulletins, pass the collection plates, usher people to the communion rail, and tidy up the pews after the service. This is another great opportunity to bring your family together in service.

Altar Flowers
Alter Flowers are a great way to honor  a special event in your life or remember a loved  one who has passed away. Whether it is your birthday, in honor of a baptism, or an anniversary, consider sponsoring the flowers that week. You can take them home to enjoy after the Sunday Service, or leave them on the altar. The cost per Sunday is $35.00. Your check can be made out to the Women’s Guild (write altar flowers on the memo line), and placed in the offering plate, or you can take it into the church office at any time.
